I operate from the belief that I am the professional in mental health, and you are the professional of your life.
Iām Kacia, a relational therapist who specializes in working with minorities, giving special attention to the culture and narrative around peopleās experiences.
The people who raise us, the society we live in, even the food we eat⦠these impact how we are conditioned to live our lives.
āWith collaboration, we can design a lifestyle that aligns with your values and beliefs, so that you can benefit from emotional maturity and generational healing.
RELATIONAL THERAPIST
A relational therapist is a mental health professional who focuses on the idea that personal well-being is deeply shaped by social connections and relationships.
In real time, we can practice social skills such as initiating confrontations, trusting vulnerability, and recovering faster from emotional triggers.
This also means we create a space to explore outdated beliefs and trauma that are acting as barriers to your wellbeing.
The Goal:
Identify and promote your strengths and minimize emotional barriers.
TYPES OF THERAPY IāM TRAINED IN
-
Allows us to explore and modify our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
-
Allows us to accept the things we cannot change and to live according to our values.
-
Allows us to examine how your past informs us of your present.
-
An approach that respects you as an individual with valuable insight.
I IDENTIFY AS:
A queer woman who was raised in a multi-ethnic household. I am white, adopted, and learning Arabic and Spanish to better connect with my community. I am a dog mom, a proud West Coaster, and I feel most alive when I spend time in nature.
I am sensitive to my intersectionality and offer this same sensitivity to my clients, being mindful to not judge a book by its cover. Decolonizing therapy by eliminating the power structure allows me to show up as a human, helping another human.
